The Coal Authority has awarded leading care and repair contractor, Property Care, part of the Housing Plus Group, a two year framework contract for subsidence repairs in the West Midlands.
As its sole framework contractor, for the West Midlands region, Property Care’s scope of work covers a range of repairs and refurbishment projects focusing on individual properties which have experienced subsidence damage as a result of former coal mining operations in the region.
The Coal Authority manages the effects of past coal mining to promote public safety and safeguard the landscape, administers claims for coal mining subsidence damage from property owners, and arranges for them to be made safe.
Property Care is set to commence work on its first three subsidence repair projects shortly, a private residence in Trentham, Stoke on Trent, and remedial building works at two properties in the Cannock area. The framework programme will be managed by Property Care’s team, based at Penkridge in Staffordshire.
Property Care completes more than 20,000 jobs per year, and, in addition to work for its partner company, South Staffordshire Housing Association, provides an integrated care and repair service to other estate management organisations, including Bushbury Hill in Wolverhampton.
